Overview 🔎
The goal of this project was to create an immersive VR experience for the SPARKOH!’s Halloween program, blending science, perception, and entertainment. Inspired by “Richie’s Plank Experience,” it challenges visitors’ balance and proprioception. The result is a playful yet impactful experience that introduces visitors to sensory illusions through VR
FEATURES 🎨
The experience includes:
Interactive elements such as bats and quirky creatures that respond to the player’s presence.
A short, high-turnover VR format designed for museums and science centers.
A focus on proprioception and multisensory perception, aligned with the SPARKOH!’s educational
mission.

CHALLENGES🤔
Key challenges included:
Achieving precise alignment between the real plank and the virtual environment for a convincing
proprioceptive effect.
Ensuring high performance on Meta Quest 3S despite dynamic elements (moving creatures, vertical
depth effects).
Designing an experience that is safe, accessible, and intuitive, even for visitors who are new to VR.
Creating a robust installation workflow for staff to run the attraction continuously during the 2-week
event.

IMPACT 💥
The experience added a memorable and adrenaline-filled attraction to the SPARKOH!’s Halloween program. It drew strong visitor engagement, sparked curiosity about sensory perception, and demonstrated how immersive technologies can make scientific concepts fun and experiential.
This project reinforced the potential of VR in educational and cultural institutions, positioning it as a powerful tool to create emotional, science-driven learning moments.
